do not see year two
About a fifth of new businesses close within the first year, and half are gone by year five. Most of the time it's not because of their product or service. It's usually that nobody knew they existed.

of nearby searches end in a visit
Three out of four people who search for something near them walk into a business within a day. Customers are looking to search engines or AI for recommendations. If your business is not online or being seen, you're already falling behind.

Being good at what you do is no longer enough.
Local business used to thrive purely off word of mouth. Do good work, and the people will come.
Now we’re in a digital age. Recommendations get typed into a search box, and whoever shows up first, or gets recommended to you by Siri, gets the call. A local crew with thirty years in the county can lose the job to a company two states away with a call center and a bigger ad budget. Not because they are worse. Just harder to find.
Our goal is to close the gap between providing great local service and being findable.
Why we built it
We’re on the businesses’ side.
Look up a plumber in Frederick, MD and you get some national site with a Frederick page stapled onto it, sorted by whoever paid the most, wrapped in random ads. We flipped that. We created a directory where all businesses in the county can get a real page, to help them get found, with the option to be a Local Verified business.
A note from us
